How Weekly Ink handles your data.
Last updated · September 2026
Weekly Ink is a small, independent newsletter. We collect the least amount of information we possibly can: your email address, and nothing else.
Who is responsible
Weekly Ink is the controller of the personal data described on this page. For any question about your data, or to exercise any of the rights below, write to hello@theweeklyink.com.
What we collect
Only your email address, and only when you type it into a subscribe form yourself. We also store the date you subscribed, and the date you unsubscribed if you ever do.
We do not ask for your name, your age, your location, your phone number or anything else.
Why we use it
To send you the newsletter you asked for, and a short welcome note when you first subscribe. That is the only purpose. The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit the subscribe form.
We never sell, rent, share or trade your email address with anyone.
No tracking
Weekly Ink has no advertising cookies, no analytics scripts and no third-party tracking pixels.
Our emails contain no open tracking and no click tracking. We cannot tell whether you opened an issue or which links you followed.
Who processes your data
- Proton Mail (Switzerland) delivers our email. Mail is sent over an encrypted connection.
- Supabase stores the subscriber list. Access is restricted to the newsletter's administrator.
Nobody else has access to the list. Email addresses are never readable from the public website.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe, the record is marked inactive so we never email you again, and it is deleted on request.
Your rights
- Withdraw consent. Every issue has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, no login, effective immediately.
- Erasure. Ask us and we permanently delete your address from the list.
- Access and correction. Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
- Complaint. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Requests go to hello@theweeklyink.com and are handled within 30 days.
Security
The subscriber list sits behind database access rules that block all public reading. Unsubscribe links use a long random code rather than your email address or a sequential number, so nobody can unsubscribe you or discover another reader's address by guessing a link.
Changes
If this page changes in a meaningful way, we will update the date at the top of it.
